A Brazilian man, Rolden Batista underwent brain surgery to excise a heart shaped neoplasm.
Interestingly, not only was he awake for the entire procedure, he was handed his favorite guitar to play and play he did. He also spoke with his wife on the phone during the procedure.
The doctor explained that the reason for keeping him awake and playing was to enable the surgeons to quickly know if an error or complication had occurred.
